Which Oak Cliff projects should be a part of the 2017 Bond Program?
You will vote next May as to whether to approve, or reject, the City of Dallas’s 2017 bond program.
But NOW is the time for those of us in District 1 to identify, and prioritize, the projects in our district that need to be in that city-wide bond proposal.
I urge you to attend one of two town hall meetings I am hosting in October. At these meetings, you can better understand how the bond program works AND let me know which city services and infrastructure projects in our neighborhoods should get top billing in the 2017 bond program.
Meeting One (Co-hosted by Councilman Casey Thomas)
Wednesday, Oct. 12, 6 p.m.
Hampton-Illinois Library (Black Box Theatre)
2951 S. Hampton Rd., Dallas | Map

Meeting Two
Tuesday, Oct. 18, 6 p.m.
Methodist Dallas Medical Center (Hitt Auditorium)
1441 N. Beckley Ave., Dallas | Map

PLEASE NOTE: We have developed a preliminary inventory of projects in District 1 we’d like to see included in next year’s bond program.
Read here the steps for viewing the preliminary needs identified for our district. Then come to one of the town hall meetings above to offer your suggestions on how we might revise that list.
YOUR INPUT IS CRITICAL to ensuring which streets, streetlights, sidewalks, bridges and other infrastructures in District 1 get repaired in the years ahead. As well as which other possible uses of taxpayers’ dollars (fixing our police and fire pension fund, extending library hours, etc.) get included in the final bond package.
Please come on either October 12, or October 18, so I can hear your thoughts about May’s very important vote on the future of Oak Cliff, and the city of Dallas as a whole.
