Dec. 4 – Jan. 15 | This annual exhibit, now in its 20th year, honors the patron saint of Mexico. This year’s exhibit is the start of an art exchange between the Oak Cliff Cultural Center and the Ysleta Independent School District in El Paso. Art teachers from those schools will show their work here.
Dec. 4 – Dec. 6 | Local artisans offer their wares for your gift-buying pleasure. Oil & Cotton hopes to help you with all those things this weekend during the Annual Holiday Mercantile. Starting at 5 p.m. Friday and stretching through the weekend, swing through the shop for a number of workshops, events and deals for the crafty person in your life. At 5 p.m. Friday there wil lbe a holiday voice workshop with Sarah Alexander, followed by a performance; there will be an open studio to make gifts at 1 p.m. Saturday ($10 admission or $15 for two); or stop by at noon Sunday for brunch and a screenprinting lesson with Mylan Nguyen and Jessica Trevizo ($45).
Dec. 4 – Dec. 5 | We’ll have have roaming carolers, in-store specials, decorated streets, and pictures with Santa! Stop by for dinner, drinks, holiday shopping, or to simply roam the avenue with your friends and family. If the mood strikes, song books & Santa hats will be available at Emporium Pies for anyone to join in the caroling!
Dec. 5 | Do you love to eat tamales? Do you think you have the best tamales in Oak Cliff? Well, have we got an event for you! The Bishop Arts Neighborhood Association is hosting a fundraiser that we have affectionately dubbed Tamale Libre. Each ticket is $10 and allows you to sample each competitor’s entry and ultimately vote for your favorite. Dec. 5 | The City of Dallas named Winnekta Heights as a historic district 33 years ago, and six of the neighborhood’s most interesting homes will be open to ticketed guests during the annual Holiday Home Tour. Those who purchase the VIP package for $30 will also enjoy a champagne reception and an exclusive tour of a seventh neighborhood home. The tour is noon-6 p.m.
Dec. 5 | The tastiest new holiday event in North Texas comes to Dallas Farmers Market next month, and admission is free for the whole family. The DFW International Tamale Festival and Christmas Market will take place Saturday, Dec. 5, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will celebrate the art of tamale-making and its role as a family holiday tradition. The event will feature tamale vendors, carolers and a kids’ zone. In addition, the 98.7 KLUV Christmas Market will offer gifts available for purchase from a variety of artisans and craftsmen. Attendees are encouraged, but not required, to bring a non-perishable food donation for the North Texas Food Bank.
Dec. 5 | The historic Oak Cliff theater celebrates 5 years since its grand re-opening with a daylong party of favorite movies, bands and DJs.

Dec. 5 | Following a tree lighting at Klyde Warren Park, Santa and Mrs. Claus will lead a merry procession to the AT&T Performing Arts Center for a free concert, fireworks show and the illumination of thousands of holiday lights at Sammons Park.
The Polyphonic Spree, Bubba Hernandez y Los Super Vatos, and cast members of “Jersey Boys” will perform a selection of their own hits and holiday classics. There will also be free photos with Santa and a fireworks show.
